Introducing SessionGlance: Turning Therapy Sessions into Powerful, Billable Insights
On December 1, we’re officially launching SessionGlance, a clinician-built platform designed to solve a familiar problem: you’re doing deep evaluative work every week, but the documentation and billing rarely show the full picture. SessionGlance helps transform routine therapy sessions into structured, editable reports that support high-quality care, measurement-based practice, and CPT 96130 psychological evaluation billing— without losing your clinical voice.
Why We Built SessionGlance
SessionGlance grew out of conversations between two psychologists who were both frustrated and curious. On the frustration side, we saw how much time clinicians spend:
- Writing detailed notes at night or on weekends after full days of sessions
- Trying to integrate symptom scales, client feedback, and clinical impressions into one coherent document
- Doing the work of psychological evaluation, but struggling to document it clearly for CPT 96130
We kept hearing the same theme: “I’m already analyzing data, tracking change, and providing feedback, but I don’t have the structure or time to show that work—and I’m not being reimbursed for it.”
On the curiosity side, we were drawn to a single question: What if we could teach a system to “listen” to a therapy session and help clinicians organize what actually happened in the room—without replacing their judgment?
We wanted something that respected the complexity of psychotherapy, surfaced meaningful patterns, and still left final authorship squarely with the clinician. That combination—frustration, curiosity, and a commitment to clinician control—became the foundation for SessionGlance.
What SessionGlance Does
SessionGlance takes the evaluative work you’re already doing—meeting with clients, tracking change, and providing feedback—and gives it structure, language, and data you can build on.
1. Record & Upload Securely
Using the SessionGlance Windows desktop app, you record your session (telehealth or in-office) and upload the encrypted audio to our secure server. Local audio is stored only while the app is open and is cleared when the application closes, supporting privacy and minimizing risk on your device.
2. AI-Assisted Transcription & Analysis
SessionGlance transcribes the session and highlights clinically relevant elements, such as:
- Presenting concerns and key themes
- Interventions used and client responses
- Language that reflects psychological distress, improvement, or stuck points over time
Instead of scrolling through a raw transcript, you see the material organized in a way that mirrors how psychologists already think: What happened? What did I do? How did the client respond? What does it mean for treatment?
3. Draft CPT 96130 Psychological Assessments
Based on the session and your outcome data, SessionGlance generates a draft psychological assessment structured to support documentation for CPT 96130 (first hour of psychological test evaluation and integration of data). The draft incorporates:
- Symptom and functioning trends over time
- Integration of qualitative material from the session with quantitative measures
- Formulation and treatment-planning language that reflects evaluative work you are already doing
You remain the author. You review, edit, and finalize the assessment before signing and billing, ensuring that the report matches your clinical understanding and ethical standards.
4. Draft Session Notes & Assessment Notes
SessionGlance also generates draft psychotherapy notes and assessment summaries that can be refined and exported into your existing workflow. You still make decisions about diagnoses, risk, and treatment—but you’re no longer starting from a blank document at the end of a long day.
5. Client Feedback Reports
For clients, SessionGlance produces Feedback Reports that include:
- A visual snapshot of symptom ratings and trends over time
- A clear, client-friendly summary of what was discussed in session
- Reflection questions tailored to that specific appointment to support work between sessions
These reports help clients remember what happened, understand how they’re progressing, and stay engaged with the work outside the 50-minute hour.
6. Measurement-Based Care at the Center
SessionGlance is built around measurement-based care. By pairing structured assessments with narrative summaries and client feedback, it becomes easier to see who is improving, who is plateauing, and where treatment may need to shift. The same data that support good clinical decisions can also support clear, defensible documentation for CPT 96130.
Early Pilot Results
In a recent one-month pilot with four clinicians, SessionGlance supported billing for 119 incidents of CPT 96130, resulting in more than $14,000 in reimbursed revenue for evaluative work those clinicians were already doing.
Clinicians also reported qualitative benefits:
- Less dread and fatigue around end-of-day documentation
- Clearer visibility into which clients were improving and which felt “stuck”
- Richer conversations with clients about progress, because both could see symptom trends and summaries
For many, documentation began to feel less like a separate chore and more like a natural extension of the therapeutic process.
Built for Clinicians, by Clinicians
SessionGlance is designed by practicing psychologists who know what it’s like to carry full caseloads, navigate payer requirements, and still want space for thoughtful, ethical work. The platform is built on a simple commitment: the clinician is always in charge.
- You decide what stays and what gets edited.
- You decide how to describe your client, your formulation, and your plan.
- You decide when and how to bill CPT 96130 based on your own standards and policies.
SessionGlance provides the scaffold—drafts, structure, and measurement-based insight. You provide the nuance, context, and human understanding that only a clinician can.
Who SessionGlance Is For
SessionGlance is a good fit for clinicians and teams who want to:
- Solo private practitioners
- Group practices
- Integrated behavioral health teams
- Clinicians using CPT 96130
- Measurement-based care programs
Whether you are just beginning to implement structured assessment or you already rely on scales and want better ways to use them, SessionGlance is built to complement—not replace—your existing workflow.
December 1: How to Get Started
On December 1, SessionGlance will be available for clinicians who want to:
- Practice measurement-based care without rebuilding their entire system
- Document psychological evaluation services in a way that clearly supports CPT 96130
- Give clients clear, written feedback that keeps therapy alive between sessions
- Spend less time on repetitive writing and more time in meaningful clinical work
Getting started can be as simple as piloting SessionGlance with a handful of clients, seeing how the workflow feels, and then expanding to more of your caseload as you get comfortable. Our team can support onboarding, training, and early implementation so that you’re not doing this alone.
